Couch sessions, main amphitheatre; There will be a series of conversations on the couch at Queen’s Park Arena with some frank talking and potential hilarity, followed by a Q&A to encourage feedback and delve deeper into this complex sphere of issues. We are delighted to announce that Alice Hattrick will be joining us via live stream to participate in a panel discussion with a passionate motley crew that will bring a range of experiences and expertise to the table at the Arena. The panel will include local artist Kirsty Hendry, Dr Sara Mcdonald from Glasgow University’s Institute for Health and Wellbeing and Fibromyalgia Action UK’s Hazel Borland.

During the talks we want to take the opportunity to celebrate carer so we have invited Karen Martin from Carers Trust Scotland who is Mental Health Development Coordinator with Carers Trust Scotland and works with local carer services across Scotland to deliver health and wellbeing information, support and advice to unpaid carers of all ages. Karen has over 20 years experience working in third sector mental health services in a variety of roles but all with the aim of enabling people experiencing mental health issues, and their carers/families, live as full a life as possible.

Andy Fairfeild who lives with Fibromyalgia will be openly talking to us about addictions and coping strategies that can end up having a negative impact on us living with an invisible illness.

Lastly we will have the Mental Health Network joining us on the couch to tell us about the work they do in the Community and some first hand experience from those engaging with the organisation.
